Beyond the typical tourist trails, we set out to explore Thailand by motorbike. Varied is Thailand’s unique and subtropical mountain landscape on the border with Myanmar and particularly appealing to explore it on small trails and gravel roads by bike.
The starting point is Chiang Mai in the mountainous north of Thailand. From there we follow in the footsteps of the Int. GS Trophy South East Asia 2016 and get to know what makes a Trophy Spirit. Six days through Thailand’s unknown mountain and river landscapes, riding a motorcycle while discovering the country’s incredible culinary diversity.
Chiang Mai is a city in mountainous northern Thailand. Founded in 1296, it was capital of the independent Lanna Kingdom until 1558. Its Old City area still retains vestiges of walls and moats from its history as a cultural and religious center. It’s also home to hundreds of elaborate Buddhist temples, including 14th-century Wat Phra Singh and 15th-century Wat Chedi Luang, adorned with carved serpents. Chiangmai still the big and charming city for cold season. (November-January)
Pai is high up in the beautiful mountain of Northern Thailand. This incredible town attracts everyone from hippies to nature lovers, musicians, artists, adventure enthusiasts and everyone in between.
